In this initial mockup of the customized pattern-making feature, users can see how adding details and trim might affect the final pattern. The user is also able to rotate the model to view their pattern in 3D space.
We wanted Veloda’s brand to merge traditional craftsmanship with the digital age. As such, we used textile and holographic fabric textures for the background. Wanting to enhance classic screenprinting techniques on a digital screen, I also achieved an “overprint” effect—using Figma’s blending modes—through highly saturated decorative flowers moving across the textured background.
Shown at Cornell Tech's 2024 Open Studio, this is a high-fidelity prototype of the pattern-generation feature for Veloda. The tool would have the robust features of Adobe products, while also being easier and more intuitive for new users to understand.
This is the pitch deck our team presented at Cornell Tech's 2024 Open Studio awards. I wanted to incorporate motion through multiple means, but mostly through the Veloda watermark and floral overprints. These slides were designed and made in Figma before the release of Figma Slides.
Veloda challenged me to understand Figma to a much deeper extent than I ever had before, just to figure out how to best utilize the animation features for our pitch deck. Because I was simultaneously working on two startup ventures—Veloda and Pibble—it was incredibly fun to see the diverging directions I could take my creativity within two vastly different aesthetics.
